The Canteeneer
There were 5 canteens scattered all around the school to cater to the needs of 5000 students. Kung iisipin mo, bakit ang dami? Para na din siguro sa convenience namin, ang hirap kaya pumila noh. All of the canteens had different specialties except for the usual junk foods, biscuits, and soft drinks. Some of them sells varieties of kakanins, some sell soft ice cream, some sell bread, and many other more. Our school was divided into two by a road. A fourth or fifth of the school is on the other side and we lovingly call it the Annex.
When I was in second year and third year, our classroom was at the Annex. It was kind of frustrating and fun at the same time. Frustrating because we're left out in the latest chismis and fun because we have our own world. Two of the five canteens were in the Annex but we rarely visited the other onne. We prefer the one beside our room because simply, it's closer and they have hot Kuyas.
For four years, the other canteen has probably the least sales of all. They don't have many parokyanos compared to the others. They mostly have kakanins like palitaw which I love. This canteen striked me most because when i was in elementary, this is where my mother, a teacher in school, buys the palitaw which she takes home as pasalubong to me and my little brother. When I was in high school, I rarely buy there. Those rare chances are because of the fact that we're working on the nursery which is beside it.
The vendors there are pretty kind but so are all the vendors in all the canteens of the school. I chose her as my first random person in my blog for the fact that, siya yung naunang pumasok sa isip ko. I do hope the ale in the pic is still well. She was pretty old when I was still there.
